This gastroenterology course will be a case-based discussion of select problems that are more common than many clinicians realize.  Disorders to be considered will include protein-losing enteropathies (especially intestinal lymphangiectasia), chronic hepatitis, esophagitis, esophageal strictures, esophageal foreign bodies, and segmental esophageal weakness.  Common pitfalls in diagnosis and treatment will be considered in detail.


6:30 to 7:20 - Regurgitation – there is much more than just megaesophagus

7:25 to 8:00 - Protein-losing enteropathies – hypoalbuminemia is not always terrible
