Optimizing Protection for Bordetella: Why Mucosal is Better

2 CE credit hours

There are many causes of acute cough in the dog. Because infectious causes are common and can spread disease, all dogs with acute cough should be considered infectious until proven otherwise. This lecture will provide a clinical approach to diagnosis and management of acute cough, with an emphasis on preventative vaccination. Mucosal immunity will be reviewed and scientific data comparing mucosal and subcutaneous vaccination of Bordetella bronchiseptica will be compared.

Session sponsored in part by Boehringer Ingelheim
