Participate in the Academy
Veterinarians licensed in New York State who obtained 20 hours of continuing education in 2008 are invited to participate in the New York State Academy of Veterinary Practice. Download the The Report Form HERE, or it can obtained by calling NYSVMS headquarters, (800) 876-9867.
A C.E. hour or C.E. credit is defined as 50-60 minutes of instruction. The official deadline for receipt of the 2008 form is February 24, 2009. At that time, the number of participants per regional will be counted and the regional with the highest percentage of member participants will win $500 in prize money to be used to fund regional C.E. programs. The second place regional will receive $250 and the most improved VMA will receive $100.
NYSVMS members who obtain the required amount of C.E. credits during a qualifying period will receive a personalized recognition certificate suitable for framing. A gold NYSVMS seal and two blue ribbons will be affixed to certificates of members who obtained 50 or more C.E. hours in 2008.
The New York State Academy of Veterinary Practice was organized to recognize and encourage NYSVMS members who regularly participate in veterinary continuing education in order to maintain personal levels of competency.
