The NYSVMS Advantage

Image

The New York State Veterinary Medical Society was organized in 1890. Its goals and purposes have remained consistent throughout its history: To protect, promote and advance the science and profession of veterinary medicine in New York State.

Membership in your professional association helps keep you up-to-date on the issues, laws and regulations that affect your practice of veterinary medicine (can you count on the state of New York to keep you informed?). Beyond this, the NYSVMS provides the veterinarian with valuable opportunities to network professionally and socially with your colleagues and expand your skills and knowledge.

The NYSVMS is governed by an executive board consisting of representatives from each of the Society's 12 regional associations and five officers elected by the membership: president, president-elect, immediate past president, treasurer and AVMA delegate.

The broad scope of NYSVMS programs and activities demands a progressive executive board, active regional associations, and dedicated committee members. Throughout the years, thanks to our network of volunteers, the NYSVMS has become a recognized and influential voice for the veterinarian on the national level, and before the New York State Legislature and regulatory agencies.
